Remarks on axially and centrally symmetric elasticity problems

چکیده
The solutions to axially and centrally symmetric Lamé problems are derived within the displacement, stress and strain-based approach by the specification of the general boundary conditions which encompass all possible combinations of kinematic and kinetic conditions at the inner and outer boundaries. It is shown that the mathematical structure of the governing differential equations in the strain-based approach is identical to that in the stress-based approach. A reduction of the compatibility conditions from general two and three-dimensional elasticity to their form applicable to axially and centrally symmetric problems is also discussed. 2008 Elsevier Ltd. Analysing the Elasticity Difference Tensor of General Relativity
The elasticity difference tensor, used in [1] to describe elasticity properties of a continuous medium filling a space-time, is here analysed from the point of view of the space-time connection. Principal directions associated with this tensor are compared with eigendirections of the material metric. Examples concerning spherically symmetric and axially symmetric space-times are then presented.
متن کاملAxially Symmetric Vibrations of a Liquid-Filled Poroelastic Thin Cylinder Saturated with Two Immiscible Liquids Surrounded by a Liquid
This paper studies axially symmetric vibrations of a liquid-filled poroelastic thin cylinder saturated with two immiscible liquids of infinite extent that is surrounded by an inviscid elastic liquid. By considering the stress free boundaries, the frequency equation is obtained. Particular case, namely, liquid-filled poroelastic cylinder saturated with single liquid is discussed. When the waven...
متن کاملTwo-Dimensional Elasticity Solution for Arbitrarily Supported Axially Functionally Graded Beams
First time, an analytical two-dimensional (2D) elasticity solution for arbitrarily supported axially functionally graded (FG) beam is developed. Linear gradation of the material property along the axis of the beam is considered. Using the strain displacement and constitutive relations, governing partial differential equations (PDEs) is obtained by employing Ressiner mixed var...
متن کاملOn the Buckling Response of Axially Pressurized Nanotubes Based on a Novel Nonlocal Beam Theory
In the present study, the buckling analysis of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) on the basis of a new refined beam theory is analyzed. The SWCNT is modeled as an elastic beam subjected to unidirectional compressive loads. To achieve this aim, the new proposed beam theory has only one unknown variable which leads to one equation similar to Euler beam theory and is also free from any shear ...
متن کاملRemarks on q-space MR propagator in partially restricted, axially-symmetric, and isotropic environments.
The problem of reconstruction of an apparent propagator from a series of diffusion-attenuated magnetic resonance (MR) signals is revisited. In nonimaging acquisitions, the inverse Fourier transform of the MR signal attenuation is consistent with the notion of an ensemble average propagator. However, in image acquisitions where one is interested in quantifying a displacement distribution in ever...
